Use of AI for taking notes during appointments

Some of our team are participating in a trial using AI note taking software during appointments. The software means your clinician can spend less time typing and more time with you and other patients. You may hear us refer to this as Heidi, AccurxScribe or ambient voice technology.

The software works by listening to your conversation with the clinician and then creating clinical notes. Your GP or clinician will always check and edit your notes before adding them to your record. The software does not diagnose or make decisions about your care. This will always be your clinician.

We follow the UK GDPR, NHS England data security and protection toolkit and the GMC record keeping standards. All our electronic systems are reviewed regularly to ensure your data remains secure and protected.

It is always your choice. If you would like more information, please just ask us or read our privacy notice here. If you prefer not to use this software during your consultation, simply let your clinician know at the beginning of your appointment.
