Berkeley Place Surgery is planning to start Covid vaccinations from a Central Cheltenham site in January, initially on a Tuesday morning. We will do this in partnership with other local practices and other local agencies, many of whom have volunteered to help.
Initially, as per national guidance, we will be inviting those over 80 years and then, over the following weeks, younger and younger age groups. This process will continue for several months until all patients over 50 years and those deemed to be at risk have been offered vaccination. For more guidance please see the NHS website.
Patients will require two doses. We plan to send the first letters to patients at the end of December, but there could be delays.
As there will be up to 2000 people a week wanting to contact our telephone booking line it is very important that we try and steer you towards other ways of booking appointments
It would be very helpful therefore if you could make plans in advance whilst awaiting your invitation.
- Please consider making plans on how you will be able to drive or be driven safely to this central Cheltenham location for two vaccinations, 21 days apart, on a Tuesday morning. Confirmation of the vaccination site will be included in your letter, and there will be a carpark nearby.
- It is very important that the clinic runs smoothly, so please read the information in your invitation letter carefully and visit the NHS website to answer your questions as well as seeing this Public Health England Covid-19 guide for adults (PDF)
- We will be actively contacting vulnerable people or their relatives/carers, and patients who are housebound to ensure there are alternative ways for them to be vaccinated.
Please try to avoid phoning the practice regarding the Covid vaccination. If you have any questions that need answering, then please Ask the Reception a Question using this link.
